The built heritage of the downtown area has received a new interpretation shaped by contemporary gastronomic demands. The corner location and the full-height glass surfaces reveal the world of the bakery and bistro as an exceptional showcase.
The needs of downtown hospitality venues are increasingly focused on the integration of terraces and interior spaces. The connection between outdoor and indoor areas has resulted in new spatial organization solutions, further emphasized by the tools and scale of landscape architecture.
The organizing element of the space is the long communal table positioned along the façade and the double-sided counter, which defines the central axis of the guest area. Tourists arriving from the direction of the Basilica immediately enter the merged experience of the terrace and interior space.
The feeling of “being in nature” was realized together with landscape architect György Zsigmond. The open show kitchen located in the corner of the spacious interior makes the gastronomic concept visible even to passersby arriving from the street.
The architecturally scaled spatial elements, platforms, coverings, and furnishings reinforce the experience of the urban landscape. Today, the location operates as a bistro and bakery.
